Which do you prefer, the renaissance bourguignotte, or the 20th Century Adrian? The first is designed to deflect downward strikes from cavalry swords, while the second is designed to stop overhead shrapnel and shell fragments. There is in fact a direct line of design descent between the two by way of the Parisian fire department, which is still wearing a version of this helmet today because the centerline reinforcement resists burning bits of building that might fall on the crown of the wearer’s head.
So which one of these is your pick? Leave an answer in the comments!
